Technical Realization of the Black Coffee Electro Spectacle in Skopje
Black Coffee delivered an audio-visual spectacle at the ARM Stadium in Skopje, and our team – in cooperation with partners from Dvd Plus – was responsible for the complete technical magic, design, and realization of this event.
When a production involves working for a Grammy Award winner and performing in front of more than 10,000 visitors, there is no room for improvisation.
The trust placed in us by Avalon International Booking was justified through the use of world-class, rider-ready equipment and the flawless coordination of our technical crews on the ground.
Technical Specifications and Project Solutions
For the needs of this open-air event, we brought out our “heavy artillery” to meet the rigorous acoustic and visual demands of the artist’s management:
1. Audio System: Crystal-Clear Sound and Maximum Pressure
Electronic music of this magnitude requires a perfect balance between massive low frequencies and crystal-clear details in the mid and high spectrum.
- System: By utilizing premium JBL VTX line-array systems, we ensured uniform sound pressure level (SPL) coverage throughout the entire stadium.
- Result: The audience in the front rows, as well as those in the furthest parts of the stadium, enjoyed a flawless and equally intense audio experience without any distortion.
2. Lighting and Visual Dynamics: Creating the Atmosphere for the Black Coffee Set
The visual identity of Black Coffee’s performances is recognizable by its deep, hypnotic atmosphere.
- System: The complete lighting arsenal consisted of industry-leading brands – Claypaky (B-Eye K20, Mini-B Aqua, Volero Batten Aqua), Prolights (SunBlast3000FC), Robe, and Chauvet.
- Result: Moving heads, strobes, and ambient lighting worked in perfect synchronization with the rhythm of the music, transforming the ARM Stadium into a space of DJ magic. The entire show was programmed via timecode on a Grand MA3 console .
3. Construction and Safety
Creating a stage construction that carries the weight of the audio and lighting equipment, while simultaneously requiring a creative structural setup, demands top-tier engineering.
- System: We used Prolyte aluminum truss systems and roof solutions.
- Result: An attractive and engaging stage design was erected while strictly respecting all safety standards, providing a stable foundation for all other production elements. The entire ground support consisted of Prolyte CT Towers with C552T segments combined with B100RV horizontal segments.
Behind-the-Scenes Engineering
This project once again confirmed that premium equipment means nothing without an expert team to manage it. Our sound engineers, lighting designers, and stage technicians demonstrated a high level of professionalism – from the early stages of planning and calculations, through rapid assembly, all the way to the live execution itself.
