The Swedish indie rock band Mando Diao performed on June 23 in Belgrade and opened the “Garden Sessions” concert series in the Botanical Garden in “Jevremovc”.
The band, which was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame in 2023, came to Serbia for the third time and provided the audience with good entertainment in a green oasis, with an alternative pop-rock rhythm. The five from Sweden exchanged great energy with the audience with good sound and their characteristic lighting on stage.
The band is known for its classic rock and roll sound, and since 2002 they have released 11 studio albums, which have sold millions of copies worldwide. They started their career drawing inspiration from rhythm and blues, as well as the music of the Beatles, Rolling Stones and Kinks. So far, they have held more than 1,500 concerts in thirty countries and participated in major festivals around the world, among which was the Novi Sad Exit Festival in 2009.
All members of the band Mando Diao play several instruments, are producers and songwriters.
They gained great popularity in this region after the release of the album “Give Me Fire!” in 2009, primarily with hits such as “Dance With Somebody” and “Gloria”.
After the sold-out tour on which they presented the album “I søndalingen”, which reached the gold circulation, Mando Diao returned to fierce rock and roll in the summer of 2022. As many as three singles – “Get it On”, “Frustration” and “Fire in the Hall” – spent 26 weeks on the top 10 rock radio charts.
