The famous musical “Notre Dame de Paris” by composer Ricard Kočante and librettist Lico Plamondon premiered last night in Belgrade’s Sava Center. From February 14 to 17, 2025, many visitors to the Blue Hall had the opportunity to enjoy the original musical based on Victor Hugo’s novel “The Ringer of the Church of the Virgin Mary in Paris”.
The mentioned musical already entered the Guinness Book of Records in the first year for the number of performances, and the song Belle became a cult and one of the best-selling singles in France and the best song of the decade in Russia.
During the 20 years of the musical’s existence, more than 11 million copies of CDs and DVDs were sold, more than 5000 performances were performed in 20 countries. The original version of the musical “Notre Dame” included 200 tons of stage equipment.
This spectacle aroused great interest among the Serbian audience, so the performances took place day after day.
The famous “Belle”, “Danse mon Esmeralda” and “Le temps des cathedrales”, were just some of the tracks that were performed in French. In terms of scenography, this is the biggest show ever hosted at the Sava Center.
At the end of the performance, seventy actors, dancers, acrobats and technical staff were sent off with standing ovations and long applause from the audience.
