As part of the world tour, the music and stage show STOMP performed in Belgrade on the Sava Center stage on November 1 and 3, 2024. Due to the great interest, even three plays were performed.
The British theater sensation STOMP, which has become a real global phenomenon, presented an infectious blend of the art of rhythm, dance, theater and comedy with exciting music inspired by the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
Eight performers have created an explosive beat enjoyed by people of all ages around the world for the third decade, creating sounds using lighters, trash cans, lids, pots, pans and even kitchen sinks.
30 years on tour
This world sensation first performed in Serbia in 2009 at the Belgrade Music Festival (BEMUS). STOMP receives critical acclaim and standing ovations from audiences around the world. So far they have had over 20,000 performances, 12 million viewers, performed in 55 countries on all continents! STOMP has been touring the world for over 30 years.
More than 60,000 matchboxes, 40,000 brooms, 30,000 wastebaskets, 20,000 drumsticks and 35,000 liters of black paint applied with 780 rollers have been used for the STOMPdo show so far!
The performance STOMP was designed and directed by longtime creative and business partners Luke Cresswell and Steve McNicholas. – Luke was born and raised in Brighton on the south coast of Great Britain. A self-taught percussionist, he started playing drums at the age of 9. Cresswell was the drummer and rhythm programmer for the music group Beats International, as well as Bette Midler and Elvis Costello.
Steve is originally from Yorkshire in the north of Great Britain. A musician, actor, singer and writer, he has worked with a wide range of stage companies throughout his career, including Bradford Theater Group, Cliff Hanger, Royal Covent Garden Theatre, The Flying Pickets and Pookiesnackenburger. In 1994, they were awarded the Laurence Olivier Award for “Best Stage Choreography”.
