Vesna Zmijanac held three concerts in the Belgrade Arena

Folk music star Vesna Zmijanac celebrated her golden jubilee—50 years of a legendary career—with three consecutive, sold-out concerts at the Belgrade Arena from May 14th to 16th. Studio Berar Rental was trusted with the complete technical production and execution of this historic three-day spectacle.

Trust of a Musical Legend Since the Eighties

Vesna Zmijanac cemented her status as a music diva and the absolute queen of the folk scene back in the 1980s, setting new standards for concert production in the region. As a company with a 43-year history and the very first rental company established in the region, our collaboration dates back to those pioneering days of the eighties. As we grew and developed our business, Vesna Zmijanac, one of the biggest folk divas, entrusted our team with her most important career milestone.

Having the opportunity to technically shape the emotion and the songs that have lasted for half a century was a privilege that demanded uncompromising professionalism.

Lighting Concept: Vintage Aesthetics

Since Vesna has been a folk music star for 50 years, our creative and technical teams made a conscious decision to shift the primary production focus from modern, massive 90-square-meter LED displays to a rich, warm, and sophisticated stage lighting design.

In addition to the digital glow of the screens, subtle animations, and live IMAG feeds of Vesna on the side screens, we wanted to breathe a vintage look into the stage, evoking the golden era of folk music.

• Warm Tones and Retro Atmosphere: We utilized specific warm-colored fixtures that simulated the aesthetics of old television and festival stages from the 1980s.
• Emphasis on Stage Architecture: Alongside the video graphics, we used lighting to create depth, shadows, and dramatic transitions that perfectly complemented the emotional weight of her greatest ballads.
• Synchronization with Music: An impressive number of intelligent fixtures (moving heads, washes, and spots) were operated with surgical precision, creating an intimate yet monumental atmosphere on par with global arenas.

Star-Studded Guests in Full Splendor

This unique lighting ambiance perfectly framed the performances of Vesna Zmijanac and her special guests, ensuring that every artist shined in their full glory under our spotlights:

• Dino Merlin – The performance of the cult duet “Kad zamirišu jorgovani” under our retro lighting brought the entire Arena to its feet, creating an unforgettable visual moment.
• Aca Lukas – Brought incredible energy, further igniting the atmosphere under dynamic light beams.
• Miroslav Ilić and Mira Škorić – As legends of the local scene, they blended perfectly into the vintage environment we created, bringing a special wave of nostalgia to these jubilee nights.

Audio Production and Truss Structure: Safety and Flawless Sound

While the lighting dictated the visual narrative, our audio team engineered a powerful sound system (JBL PRO – VTX V25) that delivered crystal-clear audio and an ideal balance of vocals, guests, and the backing orchestra from the floor to the highest stands.

The complete, massive lighting rig (Clay Paky, Prolights) was safely flown and secured using our certified trussing and high-capacity chain hoist systems. Our crew ensured maximum system stability throughout all 72 hours of heavy-duty operation, proving once again why Studio Berar Rental is a leader in executing the most complex projects in the region.
