The Novi Sad Fair marked 100 years of its existence with a ceremonial academy in the hall of the Master Center on March 30, 2022. The ceremony was opened by drummers, after which the national anthem of Serbia was sung by Danica Krstić. With an artistic performance, the actors of the Serbian National Theater led the gathered guests through the rich history of this fair house, which bears the name of Novi Sad and is one of the symbols of the city.
The year of creation of the Novi Sad Fair is 1923, when the First Novi Sad Exhibition was held in August, marking the beginning of fair events in Novi Sad.
At the ceremony in the hall of the Master Center, in addition to the mayor, the general director of the Novi Sad Fair, Slobodan Cvetković, also gave a welcome speech, who pointed out that during the century of existence of this oldest fair house in the country, a high level of professionalism, recognition and quality has been achieved, and that, with a rich the history and tradition of the Novi Sad Fair, that together ensures success in the next 100 years.
As part of the rich program, in addition to spectacular fireworks, the film “100 years of the Novi Sad Fair” was broadcast, the play “100 years of the Fair” performed by the actors of the Serbian National Theater and a performance of the Zrenjanin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra was arranged.
The ceremony was attended by representatives of city, provincial and republican authorities, universities, religious communities, chambers of commerce, the army, police, security agencies, exhibitors and friends, as well as employees of that house.
